Homemade wontons filled with ground pork, diced shrimp, minced shiitake, scallion, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Boiled then served in fish broth seasoned with fish sauce. Added on the usual scallion-crushed garlic-Thai pepper-chili oil topping. Simple restorative goodness for any time of day or year.

To wrap the wontons, I used store-bought square wonton wrappers which are thinner than the round ones. Add a spoonful of filling, wet the edges w/ water, fold them in half edge to edge (or corner to corner–up to you), then bring the short edges together like they’re crossing their arms.
